About Us - Why cover? | | Chair covers can be used at any special occasion and really add that finishing touch. Even if you are using a top quality hotel or venue for your special event, you might decide that the chairs are unsuitable for some reason. A cost effective way to improve the chairs is to cover them.
Chairs in popular venues are well used and may begin to appear shabby after a while. You may just find that the chairs are the wrong colour for your chosen colour scheme. | |

The use of white or ivory chair covers in these cases will help lift the whole room and give it a much brighter feel.
Chair covers and sashes do not just have to be for weddings. They can be used for corporate events, private parties or themed events, such as Halloween, Burn's Night or Christmas. Black chair covers are often used for dinners and can create a stunning effect.
Things to consider when choosing chair covers:

About Us - What types? | | Chair covers :Venue chairs come in all shapes and sizes and we recognised this when designing our chair covers. It was clear that for a polycotton chair cover to work it had to be tailored for the specific chair, otherwise it looked awful. It was also clear that the typical spandex universal cover would not do as it was often too stretched and created 'ski ramps' on the seat making it uninviting to sit on.
So, we invested in detailed tailoring of several designs of chair cover:-
ï Our chair covers are designed by us (stretchy type) or to our specification (poly-twill type) and are made especially for us so that they fit perfectly and are top quality. |
ï We have many different designs, sizes and styles of chair cover so that we are able to cover a multitude of chairs.
ï We hold several thousand chair covers in stock, in black, ivory and white so we can cater for all event types.
Why so much variety?
When we first started out we spent a long time researching and testing out different types of chair covers before settling on our own designs. Chair covers are available in 2 main types from other suppliers:
ï Polycotton covers (which rarely contain cotton, they are normally polyester in a plain weave)
ï Spandex covers (a.k.a. stretchy. They are made from durable polyester and contain Lycra for stretch fit)
Type 1: Polycotton covers tend not to fit very well unless they are made to measure for a particular style of chair. Most companies supplying these hope that their generic size cover fits your venue's specific chairs. They often have a loose fitting appearance and can appear very creased and wrinkled which gets even worse when a sash is tied around them. In our opinion, you would be advised not to bother with these chair covers at all if the only option was a poorly fitting polycotton cover.
Type 2: Spandex covers typically come in one-size and are stretched to fit all sizes and shapes of chair. This often means they are overstretched and cause a 'bowed' effect at the rear of the seat, making it uninviting to sit on. Often the spandex fabric is quite shiny when overly stretched which means the guest can feel a little at risk of slipping off the chair. Again, other suppliers hope their one-size-fits-all cover will fit your venue's chairs nicely. Often they do not.
Our unique hybrid chair covers:
Based on our research, our specially designed hybrid chair covers use the best qualities from both polycotton and spandex types of chair covers, whilst avoiding the pitfalls of them. Our stretchy chair covers use Lycra to ensure a good fit whilst being tailored for the target chair. We neither supply poor fitting chair covers nor do we supply inferior generic polycotton or universal spandex chair covers.
Our hybrid chair covers come in many different sizes and styles, each with a tailored fit for different types of chair, giving a similar appearance to that of a tailored polycotton cover and without the drawback of the 'bowed' seat of stretched spandex covers. Our chair covers contain Lycra so that they fit the chair perfectly without any wrinkles or creases. Our stretchy chair covers have special feet which mean they are always the perfect length for the chair legs. Our stretchy chair covers are available in white, ivory and black across the range of sizes and styles.
NEW! Significant investment in new 'Poly-Twill' Chair Covers
For certain partner hotels of ours we have invested in top-of-the-range, purpose made 'Poly-Twill' chair covers. These are made from a top quality polyester fabric in a 'twill' weave, (a bit like the weave in denim or chino trousers) meaning the fabric is thicker, more luxurious, flows more elegantly and with a more opaque appearance than standard polycotton or spandex alternatives.
ï Designed and made specifically for the hotel's chairs
ï Fully tailored for the chair (we supplied an example chair from each hotel to the manufacturer to develop the template and samples to ensure the tailoring was perfect)
ï British design and manufacture
ï Unique designs including pleats on each chair leg
ï Twill weave fabric for elegant draping, quality look and feel.

We make all our own beautiful sashes, table runners and other co-ordinating items here in Berkshire using a variety of fabulous fabrics in a range of over two hundred colours, all painstakingly sourced by us for their quality, suitability and value.
You want choice - As an example we have seven types of black!
We use this statement to get people thinking. It illustrates that colours will have a different appearance, depending on the type of fabric used. Sheer see-through fabrics, such as organza, will have a much softer look than an opaque fabric like satin or taffeta. Satin has a shiny appearance, yet taffeta has a matt finish. Not all blacks are the same! |
As with all our clients, you cannot fully imagine or appreciate what any colour or fabric will look like on the chairs in your venue; you have to try them on at the venue and see for yourself. We provide this service free of charge and without obligation.

Why do we make the sashes and co-ordinating table dressings?
We found that when we bought ready-made Chinese samples (just like the rest of the industry currently do), the table runners, sashes and overlays which were supposed to match each other were all different shades - nothing matched satisfactorilyThe items would have all come from different rolls of fabric, and possibly were even made in different factoriesWe decided that if we were not happy with this then our clients would not be eitherWe decided that we could provide a better service if we made the items ourselves
Our sashes are all skilfully hand made from rolls of fabric from the same batch with the same dye lot number, so they are guaranteed to match each other.Our sashes are properly edged with a neat hem to prevent them from frayingOur sashes can be made from a range of fabrics, including organza, satin, taffeta, lamé, and tartanOur sashes are available from a choice of over 200 colours, so you can get the exact shade that you are looking forIf we do not currently have the exact shade that you want, we will try our utmost to source it for you FREE
Things to consider when choosing a supplier for sashes:
Will your supplier provide a wide range of colours and fabrics to choose from?Will you be able to find the exact shade that you are looking for, or will you to have to settle on something which is not perfect because it is all the supplier has?Will you be able to see your sashes on your venue's chairs before placing your order?Will your supplier deliver your sashes to your venue carefully hung without creases, or will they be in a box and all creased?Will your supplier hand tie your sashes into beautiful, neat bows, or will they bunch the sashes up using elastic bands?Will your supplier ensure that all of the sashes are tied in a uniform way so that they all look the same?Will your supplier check to see that all of the sashes are straight on the chairs and at the same height across each chair?Will your supplier make sure that all of the tails on the sashes are of equal length and all facing the same way?Will your supplier spend time to carefully re-align all the chairs neatly before they leave?Will your supplier use a steamer on site to remove any last minute transit creases?

These are beautiful hand made sashes using high quality fabrics, properly edged and colour matched from the same batch of fabric rolls
Double Sided / Two piece / Duo Sash
These are beautiful custom made double sided sashes using two separate fabric pieces sewn together
Table Aprons
Aprons are like table runners but longer and designed to be hung from the front of tables, for example the Top Table or the Registrars table. These are hand made neat pieces of fabric properly edged in a coordinating colour and approximately 4m / 13ft long. They are made from a single piece of fabric without a seam.
Table Overlays
Overlays are squares or rectangles of fabric laid over the top of the table linen. These are hand made neat pieces of fabric properly edged in a coordinating colour and approximately 1.08m / 3'6'' or 1.45m / 4'10'' across the short side, depending on roll widths. They are made from a single piece of fabric without a seam.
Table Runners
Our hand made table runners are 2.6m long, about 38cm wide and properly edged to prevent fraying
Chair Wraps
Wraps are squares of fabric tied around chairs instead of sashes. These are hand made neat squares of fabric properly edged in a coordinating colour and approximately 1.08m / 3'6'' or 1.45m / 4'10'' across depending on roll widths. They are made from a single piece of fabric without a seam.
Fitted Swags and Tails
Our Fitted Swags and Tails hire service includes professional fitting on site as well as all clips, pins and additional sashes for tails if required. All are custom made in coordinated fabrics and are only available with the inclusive fitting service.
